Olwen Walker graduated in Modern Languages, and completed her MSc in Information & Library Studies at Loughborough. She started her career in legal information at Baker & McKenzie before spending three years as solo librarian at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. In October 2005, Olwen moved to Kirkland & Ellis International LLP where she is Information Services Manager.

A special election message from Olwen,

"I have worked in law firm information centres since 2000, and am currently Information Services Manager at Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. From June 2004 to June 2008, I was an editor of the British & Irish Association of Law Librarians Newsletter, and I have been a City Legal Information Group committee member since June 2006. I am committed to the legal information profession, and have many contacts in the industry. I believe that it’s important that any committee is inclusive. Therefore, if elected to Vice Chair of the City Legal Information Group, I would spend time thinking about ways to attract new members, and of events that would be of interest to the widest possible membership. I would strive to put on a varied and relevant programme of events for members at all stages of their career."
